This eLearning Module will begin on Oct 22, 2010. After taking this Module, you will be able to:

- Understand and define adaptation
- Understand how adaptation applies to the international policy context
- Explain what IUCN’s policy position is on ecosystem-based adaptation
- Understand how oceans and coasts relate to climate change
- What the policy opportunities are with regards to oceans and coasts at international level
- What IUCN’s position is on oceans and coasts
- Understand how gender relates to climate change
- What the policy opportunities are with regards to oceans and coasts at international level
- Understand what IUCN’s position on gender is and know what activites we have undertaken so far
- Understand how Indigenous Peoples issues relate to climate change
- What the policy opportunities are with regards to Indigenous Peoples and climate change at international level
- Understand what IUCN’s position on IPs is and know what work we have carried out
This module will also prepare you to participate in Module 4 – Application of IUCN Policies in your work at the regional or national level.
